Sisters, Ivy and Patricia Parker at Elder Cottage 1939/40. I think Elder Cottage was at either Railway Approach or Alexander Road but I’m not sure.
I remember my mum Ivy Parker telling me she lived on Powell Road when she was married until she was evacuated to Devon during the war.
William Frederick King and Ivy Mary Parker getting married.
This picture is my mum and dad getting married at St Nicholas Church in September 1941.
Editor: Elder Cottage was probably in Railway Approach because in the 1950s Electoral Registers a family called Parker are recorded at No 11. Names include Florence, Minnie, Doris, and Patricia.

Imagine my surprise when I saw these pictures, my mother did indeed live at Elder cottage. I am the eldest son of Florence Parker and Jim Springate. I was truly surprised to see my aunty Ivy and uncle Bill’s wedding photo because standing next to the groom is Florence, my mum!!
Yes I am sure you are right. If you have a sister with the nickname ‘Bubbles’ then you’re right
Hi Robert, Yes I can confirm that Floss and Jim were my aunty & uncle. I am the youngest of Ivy’s five sons.
Hi Paul,
Can you confirm that one of the Parker sisters, named Florence, is the same Florence that was married to my late brother, Jim Springate?
