William King and Ivy Parker

By Paul King

Sisters, Ivy and Patricia Parker at Elder Cottage 1939/40.  I think Elder Cottage was at either Railway Approach or Alexander Road but I'm not sure.

I remember my mum Ivy Parker telling me she lived on Powell Road when she was married until she was evacuated to Devon during the war.

Editor:  Elder Cottage was probably in Railway Approach because in the 1950s Electoral Registers a family called Parker are recorded at No 11.  Names include Florence, Minnie, Doris, and Patricia.

Hi Robert, Yes I can confirm that Floss and Jim were my aunty & uncle.  I am the youngest of Ivy's five sons.

Hi Paul,

Can you confirm that one of the Parker sisters, named Florence, is the same Florence that was married to my late brother, Jim Springate?
