You are quite right Donald (Joy).  The extension was fruit and veg.  The middle of the shop was provisions and the remainder was tobacco and confectionary.

In the fifties, there were four properties in St Nicholas Lane between Leinster Road and Cambridge Road.  St Nicholas Stores was one of them.

Exactly where on St Nicholas Lane was this store located? During which years? It escapes my memory.

Exactly as I remember it, photos sharpen the memories image. Would I be correct in saying, the extension on the right, as you face the building, was where the fruit and veg were kept? Many a threepenny bit or a tanner spent in there.
