Hi Alan.  Yes, we are also collecting names of those from the Basildon Borough who have lost their lives in conflicts since the Second War and previous names of those from conflicts prior to the First World War. We have very few so far.

We would also like to produce a Roll of Honour for everybody from the Borough that served in the various conflicts.

My mums brother Patrick Oneil died near the end of the war when his ship hit a mine. His name is on a cenotaph near Tower Bridge Station.  My mum's family lived a few bungalows down from the Winston Club near to the Salvation Army Hall. Not sure, but believe the road was called Northumberland Avenue.

In due course we will be compiling a Roll of Honour for everybody who died on active service outside of WWI and II but for the next couple of years we will be working on WWII. Any contributions would be welcome irrespective of date and there is no time limit to additions or corrections to any of the Rolls of Honour.

Are there any thoughts or plans to so honour those killed in later conflicts: Palestine, Korea, Cyprus, Kenya, Malaya, Falklands, etc?
