This popular annual event began promptly at 12 noon on Saturday when dozens of former school friends and neighbours flowed into the back garden of The Haven and made a ‘bee-line’ for the Laindon Archive’s stand and display of old photographs.
Two very pleasant hours followed of enthusiastic chatter about people and places in the photographs, stories of school days and discussions of how things had been and the changes that have taken place. Many met up with old friends and made some new ones during the course of the afternoon which finished around 4:15 when the very happy gathering began to disperse.
Many thanks once again to Audrey and Len Carter for their hard work and excellent organisation and to those who wrestled with the gazebos in the morning and stayed to dismantle them after the event. Hope to see you all again next year.

Hi every one, I lived in Merrylands Chase with my nan and granddad Ethel and Harry Burvill, my dad David, his twin Lesley, uncles Ken/John and an aunt Rose. I went to Dunton school then Laindon High Road School. Ken now lives on Canvey, John in Benfleet, Les in Wickford and Rose in Beccles, Suffolk. My dad sadly passed away. Myself and my daughter enjoyed the 2013 reunion.
