Victorian Post Box

On the green by the junction of Laindon Common Road and Noak Hill Road. Is there another in the Basildon borough?

The Village Post Box

The Village post box, that I be,
So pop your letter inside of me,
I’ll keep it safe; I’ll keep it sound,
Until collected on the next round.

It is thro’ me you can depend,
To send your letter to a friend,
Around the world my arms do spread,
That’s why I’m always painted red.

I’m sure you’re grateful, that I know,
I’m here in rain, wind or snow,
Your letter will be safe inside,
To travel across the oceans wide.
